Though I’ve posted very little here in the month of February, I want to assure my regular visitors that I have in fact done quite a lot of writing. It’s been a month of reaching milestones and of not having time to stop and enjoy the view. I’ve passed four furious weeks of consolidating new skills, stretching to accommodate the gigantic learning curve, and tiptoeing into new territory–all the while, churning out fabulous ideas and witty prose.
This flurry of activity has meant that I’ve had to approach my writing with a new demeanor of professionalism. Some wheeling and dealing has been going on (and continues) in the background. Hopefully I’ll soon be able to blog all about it. Until then, suffice it to say I have found it necessary to join the Australian Society of Authors. Yup–I’m a card-carrying, dues-paying author now.
I am very chuffed that my “hobby” is moving in a positive direction, even though it means I have to make space in my already cramped head for scary concepts like “contracts” and “territories” and “commissions.”
Watch this space…
