A. A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh was published on the 14th of October 1926. Spilling Ink is paying tribute to the timeless children’s classic with a quirky Pooh-Bear quote each week this month.
The first quote is a personal favourite:
“One of the advantages of being disorganized is that one is always having surprising discoveries.”
Some call it “disorganisation.” Pooh Bear and I call it serendipity. I had one such surprise yesterday when I uncovered a cache of pristine notebooks I’d laid aside. I had no idea I was so paper-rich!
Nearly everyone in the world identifies with one of the characters in Winnie-the-Pooh. For me, it’s always been Pooh Bear. How about you? Which character do you have an affinity with?

If I’m truly honest. I can associate with three characters… What only three, I hear you say …. Pooh, if you look at my bottom drawer and other drawers, Tigger for my cups and knives with ears and blades facing the same direction and when I am having semi-menopausal moments, definitely Eyeore….
