Saving Arcadia, my upcoming middle grade action adventure story, is The Goonies for the 21st century. It’s one part Home Alone to 2 parts Nim’s Island seasoned with a hefty dash of Junkyard Wars.

Arlo and Eleanor Wilde’s childhood features clever inventions, adorable pets, awesome rides, stories galore, and NO school. But one day, all that changes…

The free-range, homeschooled kids must help their parents and proto-grandma /godmother save the family’s urban play-based learning center and Arcadia, their adventure playground, when greedy City Hall sets its sights on the property.
