Need a mentor, book coach, or literary cheerleader for your book project? Hire me!

There’s nothing I love more than seeing a writer achieve their bookish dreams. I have years of experience as a leader in the Australian kidlit scene, and in that time, I’ve encouraged many creatives.
With fifteen years in the industry, I’ve experienced the full spectrum of writerly challenges and joys. I know the lonely lows of rejection and the exhilarating highs of breakthrough. I’ve done this crazy gig with and without a literary agent, and I’ve learned which qualities enable writers to succeed: persistence, resilience, community, and generosity.
Calling Young Writers & Homeschoolers!
My decade + working as a school counsellor in a P – 12 school equipped me to support young writers and creatives. I’ve led everything from therapeutic journalling groups to book clubs to a vibrant writing group called the Inklings.
I’ve run numerous writing workshops and a writing group in school settings, and I’ve enthusiastically guided homeschooled young people in their big writing projects. My favourite client so far is a sixteen-year-old girl who’s writing her first novel, a cozy, middle grade mystery featuring a Muslim-girl sleuth. I’m incredibly proud of this client!

I’ve guided a young widow who’s writing a healing memoir about her youth, the crushing loss of her husband at a young age, and the aftermath of this cruel twist of fate.
The most precious aspect of mentoring is how much I learn from my clients. Their stories and enthusiasm constantly inspire me.
